Capri by ferry, from the port in the Gulf
Capri is reached from the port of Castellammare di Stabia, 1 km from Maricelle Rooms, by seasonal ferry: about 40 minutes when the crossing is running. The island in the Gulf of Naples offers the Blue Grotto, the Gardens of Augustus, Via Krupp and the Faraglioni: an unforgettable day trip.
It is a short walk from the B&B to the port, which makes Capri surprisingly close when the seasonal ferries are running. Out of season, or when there are no direct crossings, our guests set off easily via Sorrento. Either way you leave in the morning and return to the Gulf in the evening.
What to see in Capri
From the port at Marina Grande you climb to the famous Piazzetta, the island's open-air drawing room. Don't miss the Blue Grotto, with its play of light; the Gardens of Augustus, overlooking the Faraglioni; and Via Krupp, the hairpin road carved into the rock. From Anacapri a chairlift rises to the top of Monte Solaro for the widest view over the island.
