Naples, 40 minutes by train, from the old town to the sea

Naples is 30 km / 40 minutes by Trenitalia regional train from Maricelle Rooms, in Castellammare di Stabia. Its historic centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995; the Museo Archeologico Nazionale keeps the finds from Pompei, Ercolano and Stabiae, and the city is the birthplace of pizza.

For our guests Naples is an easy day trip: from Castellammare di Stabia station you reach the centre in about 40 minutes, with no parking to worry about. It is the best way to complete the visit: at the excavations you walk among the ruins, at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale you see the frescoes and mosaics that came from them.

What to see in Naples

The historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is best crossed along Spaccanapoli, the straight street that slices through the old town past churches, workshops and the art of the nativity scenes. The Museo Archeologico Nazionale is the unmissable stop for anyone visiting the Gulf: it holds the finds from the Vesuvian cities and the Farnese Collection.
